We work with homeowners relocating to France, blending local expertise with familiar standards to deliver stunning, durable floor results on time.

A highly detailed close-up macro photographic image of sanded oak floorboards showing the subtle ridges of the grain, perfectly smooth surface, and ultra-fine sanding marks running consistently along the plank. Tiny specks of sawdust remain in a few grain lines, hinting at recent work. The color transitions from pale beige sapwood to richer golden-brown heartwood, with a natural oil finish adding gentle depth but no gloss. Neutral, diffused studio-style lighting from above eliminates harsh reflections and clearly reveals texture. The background falls into a soft blur as the boards recede diagonally. The overall aesthetic is clinical, technical, and professional, designed to communicate the precision and quality of expert floor sanding and wood preparation before finishing.
A detailed overhead photographic view of a work-in-progress floor sanding project on a traditional pine plank floor in a rustic French cottage interior. Half the floorboards are still dark, worn, and stained, while the other half are freshly sanded to a pale, clean, almost raw timber tone with visible knots and character. Along one edge sits a professional drum sander and an orbital edging sander, both spotless and well-maintained, with neatly coiled power cables and dust extraction hose. Ambient workshop-style lighting mixes with cool daylight from a nearby window, creating honest, clear illumination with minimal shadows. The composition is centered on the transition line between old and newly sanded wood, conveying precision, professionalism, and the care taken during restoration.

Meet the Team

A close-up photographic image of a beautifully restored solid oak floor in a British-style living room within a French townhouse. The boards show fine grain, tiny filled nail holes, and a perfectly even satin finish, with subtle color variation between planks. The floor meets a crisp white skirting board and a pale grey wall, all spotlessly clean. Soft, diffused daylight from an unseen window highlights the smoothness and depth of the wood, creating delicate reflections along the plank edges. Shot from a low, slightly angled perspective down the length of the floor, with shallow depth of field fading into a gently blurred background. The mood is calm, professional, and impeccable, emphasizing craftsmanship and attention to detail in floor sanding and wood restoration.

A stylish loft-style living space in a converted French barn, featuring a perfectly restored dark-stained oak floor that has been expertly sanded and refinished. The wide planks show rich chocolate-brown tones with visible grain and occasional knots, finished in a subtle satin that catches light without appearing glossy. The surrounding walls are a mix of exposed stone and smooth plaster, with large industrial-style windows along one side, slightly out of focus. Late afternoon sunlight streams through, creating dramatic but soft-edged streaks across the floor. Photographic realism, captured from a low side angle that accentuates the floor’s expanse and smoothness. The mood is contemporary yet warm, demonstrating how floor sanding and refinishing can elevate characterful French properties for British owners.

Bill Thomson

Bill is our designer and marketing guru. Having lived here for almost a decade and with a home full of scuffed wood he loves nothing better than getting the better of a stylish renovation project. When not tackling worm wood he is being tackled by his 9 year old twins.

An elegant hallway in a French maison with original herringbone parquet flooring fully restored after expert sanding. The pattern of the oak blocks is perfectly defined, each piece aligned, with a natural oil finish that enhances warm amber and caramel tones. The corridor walls are painted a soft off-white with simple mouldings, and at the far end a glazed door is slightly out of focus. Morning light from side windows creates a gentle gradient across the floor, emphasising texture and depth without glare. Photographic realism, shot from a low, linear perspective looking straight down the hallway, using rule-of-thirds composition. The atmosphere is refined and timeless, showcasing the transformative effect of professional parquet sanding for British homeowners in France.
